Guest Conductor
Edmon Levon
Edmon Levon Agop, born in Bulgaria in 1988 and raised in Spain, was initiated into the world of conducting under the tuition of Salvador Mas, and later received lessons at the University of Music in Hannover from Eiji Oue, who profoundly inspired his interpretations of the romantic and 20th century repertoires. He has already accumulated considerable experience as a conductor, having conducted orchestras such as the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Argovia Philharmonic (Switzerland), the Baden Sinfonietta (Austria), the Córdoba City Orchestra and the Granada City Orchestra. It is with the latter, together with the Schola Pueri Cantori choir of Granada, that he conducted the première performance of a work by the Spanish composer and soprano Pilar Jurado. He has also been the Main Conductor of the Orchestral School of the Granada Youth Symphony Orchestra and of the “Padre Manjón” choir of Granada.
Currently living in Manchester, Edmon is studying a Master Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (generously supported by the Pidem Award) and is deeply involved in several projects as a conductor during the ongoing season, including concerts with the RNCM Concert Orchestra and the Granada City Orchestra and assistantships with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the BBC Philharmonic.
Edmon will be conducting the next Salford Symphony Orchestra concert on the 20th March 2016.
