Chairman: Simon Caplan
Simon (2nd violin) was elected Chairman at the Annual General Meeting on 31 January. He learned to play violin at age 10 in South Africa, where he grew up. “I had Mozart violin concertos and string quartets whistled to me by my father from a very early age and out of 4 children, I was the only child to remain faithful to the cause of classical music. More recently, I got a tremendous buzz at being able to play with Salford Symphony Orchestra at the Lowry in the Magic Flute.”
Simon is married with 2 sons, aged 6 and 3. When he is not playing his violin he is employed as a numeracy consultant with Bury LEA.
